With an extensive criminal history: over 14 arrests, 2 State prison bids and several felony convictions no lawyer wanted my case in 2010. Thanks to the experts at Bretz & Coven who worked diligently and with precision, today I am a United States citizen.

I highly recommended lawyer Kerry Bretz!
First of all I just want to take advantage of this comment to thank Mr. Bretz for all the help he provide to my family. I'm very happy to share my story with all the readers to let everybody know about how generous Mr. Bretz is. I had a very complicated case with my son situation who has a deadly disease that can't be treated in my country (Lebanon) .we faced the deportation and a situation to leave our son alone fighting for the disease, so basically our family was in big danger. I start to look for lawyer who can help us, but every time we visit a lawyer and explain the situation they end up asking us for a lot money that we were not able to afford it. I didn't give up so I was trying and trying until the day I went to Mr. Bretz and it was the miracle. I can't even believe it until today. Mr Bretz offered me to take care of the case for free without any charge and not only that he has a professional team with a strong communication skills that i will never find somewhere else. Now it was been 4 years that he is defending my case and I'm still here with my son with a legal situation and without any problems. He never changed or miss treat me ever. So all I can say my lawyer is the best lawyer ever with a big heart.

Before I describe my success story with Bretz and Coven law firm, let me tell you briefly about history of my case. I entered into USA almost 11 years ago as K1 visa. We got married in 90 days. I found out that she has some serious mental issues which were getting worse and worse day by day. I could not live with her because of parents also were sick. Then I moved to NY. I filed for adjustment of status based on my marriage to her. I was issued EAD card. When my wife found out that my case is going in right direction.

She and parents decided to withdraw the petition. Her abuse and cruelty didn't stop here. She also divorced me right after that to hasten my removal from this country. I was put in deportation proceedings. My attorney at that time decided to file battered spouse 360 for me to stop my removal proceedings which was stopped. Immigration was asking more and more proof to prove my innocence in the marriage. I met another girl in during that time and we decided to get married (which was another mistake). The time passed on and on. USCIS first sent me a notice of intend to deny my battered spouse case. I went to another attorney with notice since my first lawyer was too old guy and he said to me "I don't have enough strength now". The other attorney told me that I cannot pursue my battered spouse case because I am no more spouse of her and I am divorced from her and I am married to another girl now. My second wife was also American citizen. So he decided to file a new i-130 petition for me based on my second marriage and told me to forget about first case. After waiting for than two year USCIS called us for Interview of i-130 which is rare. Anyway Interview went good and my case was approved. Then we filed i -485 with approval notice of I-130. After almost two years my 485 was denied. USCIS said that since I came on K1 visa so I cannot adjust status with anyone else except the person who brought me here. And they also told me to leave country in 30 days or face deportation. That was worst time of my life. I got so much mentally depress. I went to a lot of attorney. No one give me any hope. One well known top attorney to another one. I was keep consulting from one law firm to another one. Some suggested me to go back to country and they will file or get me wavier to come back here. Most said straight "No". In short no attorney or law firm was able to strategize and develop my case. I was financially crushed and broken. But I didn't give up. I was really optimistic. My God was my only hope. During that time I went to Bretz and Coven law firm. I found Mr. Kerry Bretz approach more sensible and I felt more satisfied. I decided to stick with him. My case was initially administratively closed. One day Mr. Kerry Bretz called me told me new changes in K1 visa and BIA decision about the "Matter of Sesay" which came in March 17, 2011. Opening a closed case always involves risk of deportation but Mr. Kerry Bretz successfully fought for me. My case was denied three times from USCIS. First 485 denied because my ex-wife withdrew her petition. Second time my denial was from 360 as battered spouse because I didn't provide sufficient evidence to immigration. Third time was 485 was denied which was filed by my second wife. Third denial was because K1 visa holder cannot adjust status with any other except the person who sponsored him/her.

Bretz and Coven proved to me God Blessing. His lawyers who used to accompany me for my court hearings are very well prepared. On one my court hearing my ex-wife and second wife and all in laws showed up against me.
According to me K1 visa is like an HIV test. Once you get it, the status can't be changed for rest of your life. That is what exactly happened in my case. To change the status on k1 visa is not possible. Thanks to New BIA decision that was the base of my case. But despite that decision it is not easy to win the case from toughest immigration judge NY. My judge has highest denial rate among all judges.

Now my case has been approved. I feel like I have been given a new life. I can't wait to fly back to my country after 11 years. I am free bird now. I can pursue my career with more confidence here. Bretz and Coven really did very good job for me. Other than my God , who helped me most is Bretz and Coven. Without this law firm I would have certainly lost my battle in immigration court. If you have immigration problem it is a" very serious matter" in your life. I will be more than happy if my post can help anyone who is going through the same as I have been. Good luck to all of you and please never ever give up your immigration battle.

Miracle does happen even now a days and people should believe on miracles. God bless you Mr. Kerry Bretz

Bretz and Cohen firm is very knowledgeable and experienced in immigration law. They were very successful in getting the conditions removed from my green card although my wife had abandoned and divorced me. The firm kept me updated on the status of my case via email and telephone. I retained the firm in December 2012 and my case was over in October 2013. The firm offers payment plans too. I highly recommend Bretz and Cohen to handle your immigration matters!

I was recommended to Mr. Bretz after being to many attorneys without getting any result in my complex case. He listened to my story and told me what needed to be done, he was very honest about it. After I did that he took on my case, and finally I was granted Permanent Resident after so many years. For anyone looking for a great law firm Bretz & Coven is it.
Donovan S

Great Law firm. They know how to get the job done. I had a very complex case and they felt my pain and tackled barriers for me.

I sought the counsel of Bretz & Coven after prior failed attempts with other law firms. I was under immigrations proceedings for permanent residence for nearly 11 years with no success and my case was denied due to insufficient evidence and lack of supporting documents due to prior inexperienced counsel and a very complicated NACARA case. Amanda Gray was the attorney assigned to my tedious case at Bretz & Coven and after sending 2 appeals to USCIS on my behalf and countless hours of work invested in my case I finally received my permanent residence card, which I honestly believed would never realize itself. It??s hard to find individuals that truly know about immigration law and proceedings and how to correctly help you get through the web of bureaucracy with in this agency. Thank you Amanda and Bretz & Coven.

Kerry Bretz and his team at Bretz and Coven saved me from deportation. I went to Bretz and Coven as a last resort. They gave me hope when nobody else knew what to do. I had a complicated case and was facing deportation. Not only did I win the deportation case, I am a U.S. citizen today. If I didn’t walk in Bretz & Coven, I probably would have been deported. Everything Kerry Bretz said he would do he did. His staff returned my calls and were attentive. Yes, they are expensive, but Kerry Bretz and his team really know what they are doing and how to deal with ICE and the immigration courts. RECOMMEND 5 Stars
